FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before your first lesson. Still curious? Just ask.

What ages and levels do you teach?

Everyone from young children (around age 5) to adults of any age, and from absolute beginners to more advanced students returning after a break. Lessons are always tailored to the individual.

Do I need my own piano or keyboard?

Yes โ€” regular practice at home is essential, so you'll need access to a piano or a weighted-key keyboard. Not sure what to buy? I'm happy to give recommendations for any budget before you commit.

Do you teach in person, online, or both?

Both! In-person lessons take place at my studio in Wilmington, DE. Online lessons run over high-quality video and work wonderfully for students anywhere. Many families mix the two.

How long are lessons, and how often?

Most students take a weekly 30-, 45-, or 60-minute lesson. Younger beginners often start with shorter lessons. We'll choose what fits the student's age, goals, and attention span.

What does it cost?

Tuition depends on lesson length and format. Please reach out and I'll share current rates along with any sibling or prepaid options.

What styles of music can I learn?

Classical, pop, jazz, film music, hymns, and more. A strong foundation applies to every style, and I love helping students play the music that excites them most.

What's your scheduling and cancellation policy?

Lessons are scheduled at a consistent weekly time when possible. I ask for advance notice on cancellations so the slot can be offered to someone else. Full details are shared when you enroll.
